hlpressley
Any of you guys using the M&P .45 to compete in IDPA's CDP division? How do you find the gun stacked up against some of the tricked out 1911's? Just curious as I just picked up a .45 a few months ago and have debated on giving CDP a try. Curious to hear you guys thoughts. Edited June 10, 2015 by hlpressley
bmiller
I saw a GM using one in limited 10 at a local match. It wasn't holding him back.
wgj3
I think it should be great if you are already familiar the M&P platform. Do a little work on the trigger, add heavy guiderod and magwell and get at it.
MegaCleanCab
I plan on getting classified in cdp with mine. I was going to get the 451 basepads from Taylor freelance so I could fit 11 in the magazines and they pair up with the sss magwel. hlpressley
Gotcha, I have contemplated picking up a midsize .45 to shoot CCP. Really wish S&W had a midsize 9mm with a 4" barrel and 15'ish round capacity.
bmiller
Have you tried the m&p 9c? Mine is as accurate as my 5" pro and will take full size mags. Edited June 11, 2015 by bmiller
hlpressley
Have you tried the m&p 9c? Mine is as accurate as my 5" pro and will take full size mags. That is actually me everyday carry gun. I shoot it pretty well but my hands are really large and mag swaps are extremely difficult. Would love to have something just a little larger. nwhpfan
With the apex competition kit my pull was 2lbs 2oz. I loaded it to minor and shot it in Production for a few years. Very nice!

I do not have the 9c but do you think the xgrip extension would help or are you saying that your hand covers the mag well when its empty. I have been toying with the idea of getting a compact but I too have large hands.
hlpressley
Oh yeah, my hand definitely covers the majority of the mag well.
