Rob Boudrie
... GMShooter - It is my understanding that a civilian resident of Washington, DC may not own a handgun unless it was registerd on or prior to a specific date in 1976. Are you saying that a DC resident may legally purchase and own a handgun? I thought aspiring USPSA members who lived in the district where SOL when it came to handguns. This is one of those cases where I hope that I a wrong, but fear that I am right. Please let us know. Carlos
Partial D.C. gun laws on www.packing.org No new residents can own or possess handguns or "unregistered ammuntion or components". Imagine my horror when a single round of .357 fell out of my wallet onto the floor of a Safeway supermarket in D.C. one night (left the hardware in VA, must have missed that single round). Picked it up, paid & high-tailed it outta there. A single spent cartridge case in D.C. can get you arrested. They need a lot more than voting rights in D.C. Come to think of it, "Congressman Marion Barry" just does not sound right to me for some reason.
