TANFARM
For all your experience is there and advantage or disadvantage to reloading plated bullets , FMJ with exposed base or plated FMJ?????...and the concave base bullets any advantages ..I reload 147 grain for practice , IDPA and USPSA. I've been trying the XTREME bullets and they seems to be satisfactory ..just loaded some test HP to try.......I'm not that good a shot to get excited about absolute accuracy...just a good all around 9 mm round.....thanks in advance. Hi-Power Jack
I'm not that good a shot to get excited about absolute accuracy I'd buy The Cheapest bullets you can find, and use them, until you feel they're holding you back (they're probably not). JHP's are much cleaner in OPEN (high velocity and the comp), but for IDPA, I doubt you'll notice much difference from the most to the least accurate bullet, at first. The weight is probably more important - mid level shooters seem to prefer the heavier bullet (ME) and advanced shooters seem to prefer the 124's (yes, there are some people who like 135's and 160's, also). rtp
For jacketed bullets, HPs offer a slight accuracy advantage, IMO, not from the HP tip but from the jacketed, flat, consistent base. Plated - use whatever, IMO - I've had better accuracy from Xtreme RNs for less $$ than from their HPs. YMMV as usual. My go to loads are becoming Hi-Tech coated, short of Xtreme running a great deal (and going through the sale purchased ones already on hand).
