zhunter
I have some magnums available, is the much if any difference?
MAC702
Depends on how much you are pushing the envelope. I used SPM's exclusively for everything for years, and still do for .38 Special loads for Steel Challenge.
atbarr
Shoot them, there's very little difference. I started reloaded in '08, and that was all I could find. I've never seen a reason to change. 9mm minor and Major, .40 minor and Major, and .45 minor and Major.
zhunter
Sorry, a Production Minor using vv320. 3.18 gr.
Sarge
I would worry more about cup hardness than I would adding to the charge. minor loads are typically weak enough that it won't hurt the pressure but if you are sprung too light they may not light from being harder. Durtarg
I had an issue with magnum primers using a lighter main spring. Had to use a 19lb to get consistent strikes. A 17lb would sometimes cause light strikes. The cup hardness is definitely a factor.
