Cast bullets in an AET barrel

I tried searching and didn't come up with anything. I've been shooting a 45 in single stack and just recently picked up an STI Apeiro in 40 with an AET barrel. I've used thousands of cast bullets in my springfield 1911 but wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with using them in this barrel. These would be regular home cast bullets from wheel weights. Thanks in advance for the help.

I shoot coated lead and lead lfp in my schuemann 1x24 AET barrel and in my open gun as well. They will be more accurate if they are a well made lead bullet hard enough and using the correct burn rate powder. I am running Tightgroup with these at minor power factor. The 122 LFP load shoots 3in at 50 yds.....so yes, go for it. Every barrel is different....see what works in your barrel best.
