Gunnar897
Does anyone know the difference between slide stops sold as 45 vs 9/38 etc? I thought they were all the same. Thank you Gunnar
scottlep
The lug (or whatever they call the part that catches on the mag follower) is longer for 9/38 I believe.
mgardner
Has to do with the difference in the magazines and the locking open of the slide after the last shot.
Gunnar897
That makes sense. I never thought about it bc I generally don't use it in limited
cheers623
I believe the part that engages the magazine follower is called the "slide stop pawl". In addition to being longer, it's also shaped a bit differently too. I thnk this has to do with the different profile of the smaller rounds. bountyhunter
The lug (or whatever they call the part that catches on the mag follower) is longer for 9/38 I believe. And if used with a 45, the wider round can hit it causing lockback with rounds in mag.
