Shotgun sights & Choate carriers: keeping the tactical practical

...went straight from the Noveske Multigun match (end 31st AUG) to the dove fields (start 01 SEP).

I used the same 26" VM as at the match (suitably plugged); just put some oil on the bolt rails.

Used my old standard Choate 6 round carriers (4 on a belt).

Lessons REAFFIRMED:

1. whether shooting thru ports or around a tree on one knee, YOU NEED A GOOD SET OF SIGHTS on a shotgun to make hits. Shotgun fitting is for those who don't understand the use of the rifle before taking up practical shotgun :surprise::devil:

2. weak hand loading is still very viable. Loading one, two or 3 (from locked back) with the gun up and eyes generally on target WORKS! (especially in 3' - 4' high weeds) When the action subsided and a quick double check was made, the gun was always full!

mi dos centavos,
