Did I get a wrong FP?

order a FP for my edge. got it from Brownells. i ordered the SS model and recieved what looks like the Titanium one. it is bronze in color. Never having seen a oem STI FP, did i get the wrong one, or are oem ones bronze colored? if it is Titanium, any drawbacks on using it?

What is the brownells part number? (so we don't have to look it up)

the bronze color is probably a titanium nitride coating, but this can be applied to any metal.

part # is 791104038. the packaging seems correct,but i think they may have put the incorrect FP in it.

It looks like your options are to call Brownells or STI to get your answer.

Can you weight it and compare it to another one you have?

The only possible downside is if you have a light hammer spring - you might have ignition problems with some rifle primers (since some folks run rifle primers with their 38 Super and 9mm Major reloads), but it should work fine with pistol primers. Otherwise they are good to go.

Put a magnet on it, if it's s/s it will stick. The color could be from heat treatment and they didn't bead blast them back to a natural stainless finish.

I believe STI coats their FP's. It is likely a SS FP coated.
