Extractor problem

Recommended Posts

Glock 17, gen 3, one pin frame.

Fired rd comes half way out of the chamber. Comes off the extractor. Does not eject. Next rd in the mag is trying to feed but is blocked by the half out of the chamber rd.

How can I tell if I have the known "bad extractor and or bad ejector" shooters say have to be replaced.

This happens about five times per 100 rds.

1- Try swapping around ammo and mags to isolate the problem to the gun. If you change ammo and mags and it still happens you know the problem is the gun.

2- Do you have another glock upper you can toss on this trame? if so, you can figure out if the problem is located in the frame or slide assembly.

How long has this been happening? What changed recently before it started to happen?

I use these questions to (try) to solve almost all gun problems.

1. try the 30274 ejector (gen 4). If that still doesn't work, it's an extractor issue. Least fuss way guaranteed to work is to try an Apex gen 3 extractor, just make sure you use it with the 30274 ejector and non-LCI spring loaded bearing.

Additionally, ANY issues with ejection pattern after the Apex install, and they will fix it for you.
