is there is specific tool for this type of barrel nut?

Looks like a Cresent wrench would work well.

Or a crowfoot wrench if you want to use a torque wrench on it.

yeah I need to torque it...it's a barrel nut. crows foot sounds like a good idea but I figured there may have been a better option out there since someone is making the actual nut...maybe they make a wrench too.

the more I look at it...I wonder if a standard armorers tool wrench would fit this...it would make sense that they may have thought if that ahead of time and made it the correct size. this nut is 1 1/4" in size

When Noveske came out with their NSR they recommended a crowfoot. I think they sell one with the Noveske brand now. Probably cheaper to buy somewhere else.

I think i'll stop by the hardware store and pick up a crows foot though...seems like a good idea.

Auto Zone has these for about $10. Torque wrench fits right in the tube.....
