justaute
Quick question for y'all... For classifiers, does it matter whether walls are solid or netted? For example, CM 09-08 Crackerjack, although its Set-up Notes do not specify wall-type, the walls are "pictured" to be solid. I've seen videos of this classifier in which walls have been both solid and netted. Thanks. Edited April 7, 2014 by justaute
ZackJones
Use what you've got. That's what the MD's at our club do. Unless the wall calls for very specific port placement such as CM 13-09, Window Pain then the proper wall will be constructed.
Sarge
Good question. On one hand any wall is considered to be solid no matter what it's made of per the rules. On the other hand I can see where it could possibly be construed as an advantage to use a net wall on a classifier if another club used solid walls. Regardless of what the rules say you can still see through some solid walls while others you can't
Mark R
When in doubt, just purchase some cheap blue plastic canvases at Harbor Freight or other store and drape them over your netted wall(s) and then tie wrap or velcro them on.
justaute
That's pretty much what I was thinking. Given those classifiers have been run with both solid and netted-walls, I guess I'll just use whatever the club has. This is just one of those "gray" areas USPSA should think about. On the other hand I can see where it could possibly be construed as an advantage to use a net wall on a classifier if another club used solid walls. Mark R
You will need to use plastic or some sort of vision barrier on classifiers that dictate as such...examples are CM 99-34 Ported View and CM 03-09 On The Move...they specifically state "Vision barrier" Edited to add title of 03-09 Edited April 8, 2014 by Mark R
justaute
Those I get as the WSB/Set-up Notes state as such. spanky
Some classifiers call walls "vision barriers." I think, in those instances, the walls should be solid. ex: http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/99-34.pdf, http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/03-09.pdf, https://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/06-02.pdf There is, in my opinion, a definitive reason why these walls should be solid.
