225 Fireman
I bought a 1000 of the Remington 6 1/2 small rifle primers then I saw they arent for use in .223 what is the dangers of using these.
Dan Sierpina
Probably blown or pierced primers. 6 1/2 primers are for low pressure cartridges such as .22 Hornet.
rtp
It may depend on your loads. I've seen reference to someone saying they're good to go up to 48k PSI or so, but personally, I'd be looking at potentially using them as pistol primers, or trading them for some 7 1/2s, CCIs, or other suitable primers. Call Remington if you're considering using them for an AR.
rjacobs
6.5's are relatively weak too, at least compared to the 7.5's(nickname=blow torch)
Steve RA
Just use them for small pistol primers.

225 Fireman
Also my load is 25gr of TAC behind a 55gr projectile
Steve RA
Should be OK for 9 or .40. I have no idea what pressure your AR load is developing. They will work fine in pistol loads.
Alaskapopo
I used these a while back before I knew better. But I did not have any problems. Now that I read the issues online I am scared to use them again. Ignorance was bliss.
