ERIC
I was looking at the rules and didn't see anything regarding scoring of minor or major pistol calibers. Are they going to follow USPSA/IPSC rules or are they scored the same? I'm going to shoot in the Tactical Scoped class and just read I can't use my Ghost holster for my STI Edge - bummer. I've been shooting for 2 years with my holster and mag pouches in the front. Now I'll have to practice with them at or behind the point of the hip. SinistralRifleman
They just list minimum calibers you can use, they don't use power factor. http://www.smm3g.com/2005%20SMM3GRules.pdf
ErikW
The speed of your draw is pretty much irrelevant to your stage result and match result at the SMM3G. And I found shooting Minor didn't do much for me, either.

Two holes in the target or one hole in the "A" zone would result in zero time added to your stage time.
kellyn
If you so desire, you can blaze away at SMM3G with 40 or even 35 grain bullets in your AR and shoot a 20+ rd 9mm in Tactical class. If it will move a flashplate, knock a Larue over or take a popper, it will do. I agree with Erik, your draw ain't gonna be a major factor of your performance.
