myproverb
Guys, I need your suggestion. I've replaced the recoil spring of my gun's 5/16" tungsten guide rod (uncaptured) with a wolff XDM 14lb spring. The gun is still working and I'm able to finish a match without any problem; but I'm now having trouble removing the slide from the frame. Thanks for the suggestion; and i'll definitely start using a 3/8" guide rod with an XDM spring, when I resolve this issue.
Unibrain
Does the slide lock back? If it does can you operate the takedown lever? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
joshxdm9
I have the same issue with my 5.25 9mm. When the slide comes back forward look to see if you firing pin is engaged. If it is rack the slide about quarter of the way back quickly and see if pin drops then it should slide right off.
myproverb
Thanks; i'll try your suggestion this afternoon. And yes, i can still lock the slide and operate the take-down lever. Tnx.
sniemann
I have had that issue on an aftermarket guide rod too. Push down on the slide just in front of the chamber and it should come off.
