Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This happened on mine as well, but only with a full 40+ round magazine. Smaller magazines, and downloaded 40+ round magazines, worked fine. Installed Taccom feed ramp and all magazines work fine.
  2. I have the pro kit in my Shadow 2 and have zero problems with WIN primers.
  3. Sent my Shadow 2 barrel to Patriot Defense. Quick turnaround and good price. Very satisfied with the results.
  4. I shot an XDM for 6-7 years before making the switch (mid-shooting season) to a Shadow 2. I too feared that getting used to DA/SA would be a problem. However, it was not an issue at all. My scores stayed about the same immediately after the switch. Within a month my scores improved. If I were to do it over again I would make the switch during the off season rather than the middle of the season. Other than that, no regrets.
  5. I too sent my Shadow 2 barrel to Patriot Defense. They had it back in the mail to me the next day and it works perfectly. Accuracy is outstanding, and all of the ammo that I have loaded for my other guns works just fine now. Very pleased with the results.
  6. What are the concerns with reaming the throat of the barrel? Most other factory parts are changed, swapped, modified, milled, etc on these guns; what is the opposition to modifying the barrel to allow for more reloading options. I have just ordered my first CZ and have no idea if the ammo that I have been using for my XDM will work in it or not. However, it seems to me that the industry would have certain specifications for barrel/chamber size, and it strikes me odd that ammo that works in other 9mms will not work in a CZ. I further assume that reaming the throat just brings the chamber to the specs it should have been to start with?
  7. So, which basepads will work for the Shadow 2 and 17 round MG mag combo and still fit in the box? I thought I read that the Springer pads were too deep?
  8. Were you using these on the mg17 mags? If so, I just made the exact same mistake...
  9. Does the gun with the new spring set-up still run your Freedom Munitions loads? If so, you can eliminate the spring as being an issue and look to your ammo. If not, then continue to address the springs. A couple years ago I switched ammo and altered my grip at the same time, and started to have stovepipe issues. I really wanted to blame the ammo but it turned out my new grip caused my weak hand thumb to ride the slide which resulted in the failures to eject. I currently run a 14lb recoil spring, lightened striker spring, and 135 grain Bayous at 133 PF w/o any issues.
  10. Double Alpha RangePack, medium sized. 2 years old. No sagging. Great backpack that has room enough for both mine and my wife's stuff. http://www.doublealpha.biz/range-bags/range-bags/ced-daa-rangepack-ipsc-backpack
  11. My wife has an XDm 5.25 in 9mm and an STI Edge in .40. She shoots the XDm far better, and enjoys shooting it more, than the STI. The STI is just too big for her hands. I own several other XDms and they never have issues. I would recommend one w/o hesitation.
  12. Is this a drop in part or does it need to be fitted and polished?
  13. I have had that issue on an aftermarket guide rod too. Push down on the slide just in front of the chamber and it should come off.
  14. The story reads that the lawsuit petition was written by the plaintiff and has not been served. No judges or lawyers involved at this point.
