prc77
New build with JP Adust. Gas Block. JP LM BCG, JP LM buffer and spring. Winchester whitebox .223. Did not cycle. Gas Block will NOT adjust, open or close, will not turn at all. Edited January 28, 2014 by prc77
TitoR
i did not find a nordic branded GB in their website. Is it the JP? If so, in mine the adjustment screw is very loose and i have to fix it with loctite to set the adjustment. So, I am surprised that the screw will not turn in yours. if it has red loctite, which it might, try heating the gas block with a torch to melt/loosen loctite and then try again. BTW, I am assuming this is a new build. If not then, there have been other reports of gb adjustment screws seizing up here in BE forum, which may require a GB replacement, bummer. prc77
OK now that I have the parts properly identified. I talked to Ben at JP this morning. He suggested a little heat to loosen the thread lock. I'm going to replace the set screw also.
michael1778
Good luck. If you replace the gas block, consider a Syrac block. JP uses them as an option for their builds. It is mechanically different from the JP design. No threadlocker or any of that razmataz involved.
Prariedog
Question, did you install the gas tube like JP states in their instructions? Just wondering if the adj. screw is hung up on the gas tube.
troupe
Sounds like the screw may be hitting the tube.
