sensei
..... I don't think it is legal .... For IDPA, you need a 4" barrel revo. I have just take one last week ...... (the "little" brother of the others two 5" 625)
hdgun
I do not believe the 5" barrel is legal any more
sensei
I just had a 686 - 4" barrel .357 mag for IDPA, ..... but 4" 625 it another world !!!
underlug
The 5" is definitely not legal in IDPA. The 625 is definitely the way to go.

eerw
would the PC 686 in 38 super work in IDPA..do they have the major/minor thing going on??? I know people say the 625 is the best for reloads...but just curious..
Carlos
SSR or revolver division only recognizes Minor power floor so go ahead & really really download the .45 ammo for IDPA (for your 625 types). EERW: have any steel loads that meet minor? Either caliber, your POI will cetainly change though so please be aware.
Precision40
From the IDPA Rulebook: Any revolver of 9mm/.38 Special Caliber or larger with a barrel length of 5" or less. NOTE: Effective 10-26-02 the maximum barrel length will be reduced to 4”
minnesota1
I have the 5" 625 but then they switched the rule to a maximum of 4" so it forced me to buy another revolver! I bought the 4" 625 and recommend that you do the same. It is faster to reload than the 610, 686, etc. and at the weak power factor you can have in IDPA it is like shooting a .22!!
