zzulu
Are there any thoughts about the Slant Pro rear vs the Straight Eight rear for a G17? ZZ
Caspian_45
The Slantpro is just one of Heinies sight styles. The Straight Eight is a tritium night sight set up. Gonna need more info on what type of shooting you are going to do. If you don't need the night sights why speed the extra coin. I use Heinie sights on all my Glocks. Some are Slantpro and some are the original style. He makes the Ledge that has a wider notch.
ltdmstr
Like he said. Only difference between the two is that the Straight 8 have tritium inserts. Some people like them but they don't help if you can't see what you're shooting. So my .02 is that you're better off with conventional sights and a flashlight for low light. For conventional sights, I prefer the Heinie Ledge Qwik sights. The ledge is a nice tactical design and the qwik feature is just a wider rear notch, so they are faster to pickup. LilBunniFuFu
Some like the extra dot and some don't. I learned with dot and post sights so I prefer having a rear straight8 and a FO front for USPSA type shooting. About Qwik sights I prefer a thinner front sight instead of a wider rear notch. But like all things. Whatever floats your boat and let's you gun faster.
