M&P 9mm 5" Pro or Core Model?

Not true - a number of MD's have ruled the CORE is Production legal since the slide says "M&P Pro Series" - precedent. They only added the specific CORE models to satisfy the uninformed.

For the sake of argument.

A 26 ounce, unmodified core pistol would be a trip straight to open at a major where the gun gets weighed. 3 oz under the 29 oz listed weight for a non core 5 inch pro.

The the rules allow 2 oz OVER listed weight, nothing is said about under listed weight being allowed.

I'm not sure where they are getting their weights for the M&P 5" guns. Everything I find (straight from the S&W website and Cabellas) says that the Pro and Pro CORE 5" 9mm is 26 oz..same weight...the Pro and Pro CORE 40's are 24 oz. Where does that extra weight they have added on there for the regular Pro 5" come from?
