DGDDS91
Has anyone used Clays powder for a 38 super comp load? If so what is the load and bullet weight? Thanks
Shadyscott999
Oh dear god, no. Assuming you are loading for major pf. That is a recipe for disaster. For major pf, you want a MUCH slower powder. Most are using 3n37, 3n38, n350, n105, 4756, hs6, autocomp...
DGDDS91
I am using 4756. I have an 8lb of Clays that I was using for 45 and thought I could maybe use for open as well. I am not shooting single stack a lot so I thought I could try and use it. Thanks for the reply
Service Desk
You could use it for steel loads..... 3.6 grains behind a 122gn lead boolit is about 125pf in my Edge.
kneelingatlas
I've shot fast powders through my Open gun with/without the comp and could not tell the difference in muzzle flip. You need a large charge of slow powder to create the gas volume necessary to make the comp work. Clays is a popular powder for Limited loads so see if you can trade it for the slow powders listed above.
