aandabooks
Shot my first USPSA today. Quick question. Why when I finish and I show clear they want me to drop the hammer on the empty chamber using the trigger rather than using the decocker? I'm using a FNX9 and shot the production division. gacattack
To prove there is no round in the chamber. If it goes bang, then you go home. [typed with fat fingers on a small screen]
jeremy kemlo
You check that it is empty. RO ckecks that is empty. Then the hammer is dropped just to make shure. You can never be too safe.
thermobollocks
It isn't to simply get the hammer down. It's for everyone else watching.
Onagoth
I've seen a round go off like this. Dropping the hammer is essential because it mitigates risk associated with shooter/RO laziness/fatigue/error. etc.
