Paul-the new guy
Are there any other options for keeping my fat thumb off the slide besides the krebs and the swenson safties? I have a set of swensons and they are going to require a ton of fitting... It looks like they were made with a 50 year old mold or something. I saw what looked like an STI safety with a little pin sticking up to keep your thumb off but I can't find them anywhere. Any ideas?
scottlep
http://www.egwguns.com/miscellaneous-parts/thumb-guard-for-1911/ You would probably need a gunsmith to install though.

bigcraig
http://www.1911store.com/thumbguardbcg.aspx Requires gunsmith fitting. This is what I use and recommend if you have the fat thumb affliction. It does require fitting.
Parallax3D
The EGW version will also not work on a 2011 frame without severe modification. The EGW part replaces the thumb safety/slide stop plunger tube, which is staked on on a 1911, but is an integral part of the frame on a 2011. Seems like the only option I can find for a 2011 is the Brazos version.
