Back up gun at match

Ive read the rulebook but need some clarification on back up gun rules. Can your back up gun in limited to a 2011 dawson 9mm edge be a glock 34 with basically the same internal work done, magwell, +5 dawson extended mags, etc.yes I know final decision is with matchv director. Justv wanted to hear some of your experiences in this field.

Short answer is yes. As long as it meets division criteria, it should be fine....

Just make sure to chrono your loads in both guns. If you ever have to switch at a match with a chrono stage, you need to retest with the backup gun.

5.1.7 Competitors must use the same handgun and type of sights for all

courses of fire in a match. However, in the event that a competitor’s

original handgun and/or sights become unserviceable or unsafe during

a match, the competitor must, before using a substitute handgun and/or

sights, seek permission from the Range Master who may approve the

substitution provided he is satisfied

5.1.8 A competitor who substitutes or significantly modifies a handgun during

a match without the prior approval of the Range Master will be subject

to the provisions of Section 10.6.
