John Dunn
Anyone know whether it is legal to preposition a mag in the barrel for the reload? I would guess no, but I can't cite the appropriate rule. If it is legal, that would be the way to go. Then the only decision is do you draw to kneeling or kneel on the reload? Jake Di Vita
After the beep you can place a mag wherever you want.
Ron Ankeny
Which rule prevents positioning a mag in the barrel before the buzzer? Is there a rule requiring all reloading devices/ammo to be on the competitor's person? I can't find the rule either.
Jake Di Vita
I could have sworn there was a rule stating that, but now that I look at the rulebook, I see nothing that says that??? Can anyone else find one?
John Dunn
Some moderator will likely boot this to the rules forum, but I figured it couldn't be legal to preposition mags (prior to the start signal), but we couldn't clearly figure out how it was illegal. I reloaded from the belt, but wanted like heck to put a mag in the barrel.

Skywalker
Guess the IPSC rulebook shouldn't be that much different from the USPSA one on this issue, thus: 10 Max. distance of handgun and mags/speed loaders from torso 50mm From Divisional requirements, Appendix D. And it applies to all divisions. Thus, unless otherwise required from the stage briefing, the gun, and mags/speedloaders can't be more than 5 cm from competitor's torso.
