818-DVC
I'm loading up .38sc for minor, and I just wondering how many times people are loading up their brass for minor. It's for steel around 130pf. Using about 4.6 of N320 with 115's at 1.165. Can I load it more running minor, or are the pockets going to open up the same as running major? Steve RA
In general, with lower pressure you can run it longer, individual cases may vary.
56hawk
How long does your brass last running major? I don't keep track of the number of loads on mine, but they seem to last just about forever.
818-DVC
8-10 loads in major. I thought I would get twice as much more out of minor, unless the primer pockets open up the same. Same primers, same life?
bassochist
i reloaded my .38super brass (remington +p nickel) over more than 100 times with major loads (9.3 grns 3n38, pf 168), there where only a few with worn out primer pockets. but with my 9 major, i can only use my brass about 5 or 6 times, before the primer pocket are worn out. RH45
I usually find that the brass shortens enough that I don't want to use it, before the primer pockets get loose.
