chowellacsbd
Has anyone else had the same issue with their DAA RaceMaster mag pouch tension being tight even at it's lowest setting?
gng4life
Not with my SV and STI mags. On the lowest setting, they are a little loose but there is a point where they become so tight, I can barely pull them out. So the range is there for me...what mags are you using? Any thing special about the orientation of the mag body or the angle of it?
chowellacsbd
standard sti 140mm (9/38). I may go ahead and lap off some of the delrin tension pad in the pouches to see if that works.
rjstubbl
The spacers didn't work with my Glock mags. They CED sent me a set that was sanded down to fit.
Sarge
standard sti 140mm (9/38). I may go ahead and lap off some of the delrin tension pad in the pouches to see if that works. Get in touch with CED too. They may send you some new spacers. I have plenty of adjustment both ways with STI mags in mine.

justaute
There's no need to shave the tension-pad. Just "re-shape" the plate-spring by flattening it a bit. I did that to all mine and now have plenty of tension range.
chowellacsbd
Didn't even think of that...thanks justaute!
chowellacsbd
Flattened out the spacer spring in the pouches and it WORKED!!
justaute
Glad to hear. Just remember not to flatten it too much, which may cause the tension-pad to slip out when inserting the mag hard. FWIW...I flattened the center of the spring and then bent it again near the ends. This set-up gave me ample room to tighten/loosen the pad and kept the pad from sliding out of position. Flattened out the spacer spring in the pouches and it WORKED!! Edited January 2, 2013 by justaute
nick romero
Great call justaute. i ran into that issue when i put my glock mag in the pouch and found out the hard way that spring was alot easier to flatten the spring then it was to sand down the mag pouch to make fit
