ClutchUSMC
Got this from a family friend that no longer wanted it in their house. Couldn't pass up a free 1911. Appears to be an a1 pattern with matching serial numbers on frame, slide, and barrel. Left side of slide says: "D.G.F.M.-(F.M.A.P)" Right side of slide says: " Ejercito Argention Sist. Colt Cal. 11.25mm Mod. 1927" Serial is 277XX Finish is about 80%, works fine and the accuracy isn't bad. All parts seem to be original except for the colt mag. Ok, So I know it was made in Argentina on colt tools sometime between 1927 and 1942. What I don't know is what its worth? Is it collectible? A good candidate for a SS/HM/CDP build? Etc. JFlowers
Its a Sistema. Argentine built Colt. When I rebuilt mine, I noticed the castings were rough, but other than that no major issues. http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/review/sistema.htm

Biloxi23
I think if you look closely, you will se the sights are the narrower front and the narrow notch of the of the pre-1927 1911 ( pre A1). there were some Argintine colts' that were made in Hartford and were marked with Argentine Army crest. As to value, I do not know, but I have seen a bunch of them. but in your case, the price was very right.
ClutchUSMC
So then its a decent candidate for a build?
Carmine
If the frame ( and slide) look good.......build away!!
