primo86gt
Picked a used Bul M5 1911 cleaned it tried it out and the Hammer follows the slide 1/2 the time, Noticed someone ground on the sear so I replaced it and the leaf spring, set it at about 4lbs pull, test out and the Hammer still follows the slide 1/2 the time. Stops at the 1/2 cocked position. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

chemo
try an unmodified sear spring, if it still does it, try a different brand of sear spring
quedude
You might want to check the grip for cracks I chased the same problem for a month after I changed all the parts that's when I found the crack. Good Luck
DrawandDuck
95% of the time it is not enough tension on the left leg of the sear spring....
knedrgr
also check the overtravel adjustment on the trigger. Too much and it won't let it completely reset.
