Ssanders224
Hey guys, Recently picked up some Brazos tuned tubes, but they did not come with basepads. I slapped some Dawson SNL pads on them, and they are JUST shy of fitting in the gauge. What are the tricks to making them fit, without messing with the lips? al503
You'll have to take a little off the rear of the lips. I just take a wide file and slowly take off material until it just makes it in the gauge. You shouldn't have to take any material off from the middle to the front of the lips. Aircooled6racer
Hello: Since you don't want to take a little off the back of the feed lips to make them fit the gauge then you will have to take some off the bottom of the base pads. You make the call. Thanks, Eric
al503
The SNL pads are very thin. I'm not sure you can take enough material off to make a meaningful difference. JMO.
EkuJustice
File on the feed lips or loose the SNL for some regular +1 pads
remoandiris
Gently touch the basepad against a grinding wheel. Go slow and take material off a little at a time. Once it fits the gauge, use a buffing wheel to smooth it out. You can either paint the bottom or leave the aluminum showing. You might find the mag fits the gauge by just taking a little material off the rear of the basepad, too.
