Super 1050 primer feed bar

Recommended Posts

PROBLEM RESOLVED!!

The actuating arm required a lot of tinkering to set the proper distance from the bottom. Finally found the "Sweet Spot" and good to go.

I have a new-to-me Super 1050 in .45 caliber.

In setting it up, I discovered that the primer bar is not moving forward to place the primer directly beneath the feed hoe, thereby stopping the head from moving.

All I have to do is manually move the bar forward about 3/8 inch and then it works.

I have disassembled the bar, cleaned out the guide slot with a little solvent and Q-tips. Then checked for any binding and there is none.

It appears that the lever that drives the bar is not on the cam and the end of travel and just stops.

Any ideas?

Check the rubber bushing on the tit on the primer slide. It may be rubbing on the raceway. If it is smooth and you can move it easily with your finger, then pull the toolhead down, pull down the primer slide arm and push it all the way down, then lift it up just a hair and see if that helps...

Mess with it and see what works.

Good luck,

Ok, Forum...

Although I am up and running, a question about #11003, Slide actuating lever:

The one on my machine has a bend (besides the L shape) that angle it in towards the body of the machine. I have to seriously futz with it to align it in the Primer slide. While I do have it working, is that the normal configuration?

My memory (I am old, so who knows?) is that it does not have that angle from the 17604 Bracket pin.

I am going to order:

Primer slide - 20318, because another thread said there is a new model

Plastic tips for the 22031 Primer magazine tube - mine appears very worn

and the 11003 Slide actuating lever... just in case.

Love the search function ...

So what did you do? Just keep fielding with it to get it to that spot?

I'm having the exact same issue ....
