Mat Price
I have an older schueman 4 hole threaded barrel and I want to change my comp to the new Shoto comp any idea on how to tell what the thread size and pattern is?
theycallmeingot
take it into Ace Hardware and start screwing it into the thread finder on the wall. I'm just kidding, don't do that. use a caliper to see what diameter the threaded portion is. maybe 1/2"? threads are in threads per inch. you can count the threads and measure how long the threaded area is. if it were 1/2 an inch long and there are 16 threads in that amount of area, it would be 32 threads per inch. g mac
According to GansGuns: "All Bushing Compensators are threaded .575x40. Coned comps fit on STANDARD (not bull barrels) size barrels that can be or are threaded. The barrel bushing will be removed and replace by the cone of the comp. Reverse plug will need to be added. Cone will be oversize.. " Check out gansguns.com I think the thread/size .685 40 tpi are for BULL barrels.

A) The quote does not apply to the kind of barrel here at issue & 2) it's referring to comps GANs makes. Mat, getting in touch with Wil may yield better results faster.
