Grip Screws

Be aware that if Red loctite 271 is properly applied to cleaned, small diameter screws...pretty much the only way to get them out is to heat the screw to about 500 degrees F.

Maybe try cleaning the screws and holes with something like alcohol or acetone and try again with the Blue 242 Locktite. Just my $0.02

That was my main concern.

I'll give it another try with the blue loctite.

Thanks.

Mario has had a screw loose as long as I have known him. A Glock is a good idea since it does not have any screws.

Hey, hey, be nice!!! :surprise:

I'll see you guys at the Sunshine Games.

Try an O ring, solved the problems with screws shooting loose on my STI and Colts.

Made by Danco, available at Lowes #60 O-ring. ¼ x 1/8 x 1/10th.

About $2.00 for a box of 10.

Try cleaning the screws really well with a wire brush and some type of cleaner that evaporates, like brake cleaner. Then try the blue and let it sit for 24 hrs and it should hold up for at least a couple months. If you shoot as much as I do, you just have to check them every week or two or risk the forever together problem that red Loctite introduces.

I use the blue Loctite on the grip screws on my guns, no problems with the screws working loose. when I take off the screws to remove the grip I just use a dremel with a cleaning brush to get the old dried up crud off the threads, then clean it with rubbing alcohol before reapplying more blue loctite.
