Suburban Commando
Up til now, I've just been ordering jacketed bullets in bulk. I have pistols with polygonal rifled barrels, and I just used one load for everything. The 3-gun match director isn't allowing jacketed bullets for the steel targets though. I've been using TiteGroup, which works for cast bullets. . . sort of. It's kind of a smoky, smelly mess. Doing a search, it seems like the HS-6 that I have, is a little dirty when loaded under cast bullets. So what powder should I look for next month at the gun show to use for cast bullet loads in 9mm? If it works for .38 Special and .45ACP also, that would be a big plus. Edited April 23, 2012 by Suburban Commando

Steve RA
Clays if not looking for a really hot load, #4756 if trying for maximum knock down power.
Bsbllrooster
+1 for Solo 1000. I have only used it under .40 for my limited major loads but don't see why it wouldn't work for 9. Very clean and very little smoke.

Hodgdon, Winchester, Alliant, and IMR powders I've seen, but I don't think I've ever seen Solo. Edited April 24, 2012 by Suburban Commando

Service Desk
Try a pound of Universal.... great under led boolits and not too smokey. VV 330 is good too.
sroe3
I use Universal for 9mm. Listed loadings only make PF with 124/125g bullets. I've loaded and shot moly and plated, smoke was from the moly, not the powder.
Suburban Commando
Clays if not looking for a really hot load, #4756 if trying for maximum knock down power. Just so we're clear. Is that Hodgdon Clays, Universal Clays, or International Clays?
Steve RA
Clays, technically they have removed Clays from the name of the others, but, may still be some on the shelves labeled the old way.
