New gun! No Holster!

I ordered an STI Lexor from Chuck at Shooter's Connection and was astonished at the delivery time.  It was less than a week from order to pick-up, and most of that time was snail mail for the FFL from my local dealer to get there.  Great service!

I ordered a holster and mag pouches at the same time from a different vendor, but I'm not expecting these to get here any time soon.  I feel like a kid who got a bike for Christmas and has to wait for spring to ride it.

And the moral of the story is, when ordering gun from Chuck, order holster, pouches, belt from Chuck also?  Or tell Chuck to charge credit card and put gun on hold shelf for 3-4 weeks before shipping?

...and if your Lexor is set up as good as mine was, you'll enjoy not having to tweak it.  I'm pretty tickled with the reliability of mine.

Thanks for the offer to break in the new blaster!  BTW I wanted to shoot your qualifier in the worst way, but I'm on call this week (with all partners out of town, and nobody to switch with).

I felt like the classic Eastern Dude shooting in Casper and Dubois (the brand new gear, high ignorance factor, etc.).  My plan is to wear most of the bluing off the STI this winter with dry fire, wrap some athletic tape around the grip, and start clawing my way up the classes in the spring.

As it was explained to me the rules of shooting are:

1.  Look good

2.  Shoot good

3.  If you can't shoot good, see #1

Man I know the feeling. I've had my new Dawson PAL for almost 2 weeks and haven't had the time to fire a shot through it yet. Well the Tri- States is shot, Mom and the rugrats are at Grandma's house so Dad is off to play.
