RevolverJockey
Does anyone know the number of a stock patridge front sight for a 627? I want to swap out for the brass bead that came on it. Thanks, Lee
Carmoney
Not sure, but perhaps this will help:
RevolverJockey
Stupid autocorrect. I am calling apple tomorrow. Patridge is what I meant of course. Lee
Toolguy
This won't be quite as entertaining but hopefully still worthwhile. SKU 245630000.

RevolverJockey
This won't be quite as entertaining but hopefully still worthwhile. SKU 245630000. Forgive me Warren, any idea what vendor might have this stocked under the sku you posted? Even better is this a sight you make? I refuse to convert to fiber optic and that seems to be all I can find. Toolguy
That is the S&W number for a 627 black patridge dovetail base sight. As far as I know, only S&W has them. I had to wait 2 months to get one. I don't make that one. I'm not quite sure what the last part says, I'm guessing "I refuse to convert to fiber optic".
RevolverJockey
It looks like there is some sort of connection problem to photo bucket but I am not sure we are talking about the same sight. This is the one I have:
Toolguy
OK - that's a Classic or clip on style. I make that kind. Are you wanting a .125 wide or .100 wide? I have some .125 wide in stock. Edited March 2, 2012 by Toolguy
RevolverJockey
Any reason I can pop out the brass bead and fill the hole with black epoxy and sight black it? Lee Edited March 2, 2012 by Mitch_Rapp.

joedodge
thanks man your the best. with me the brass dot just seemed bigger than the rear sight notch i never felt like i got the front sight properly aligned never had good focus taking the bead out helped alot i like the idea of filling the whole in that never crossed my mind. RevolverJockey
I think that is a lot of people's problem with them. In the time before fiber optic and night sights the McGivern dot made a lot of sense. It does catch light but makes for a terrible sight picture.
