Taxes

I just received a package from Brownells this morning, and I had to pay 36 dollars in Taxes .

A third of the value of the parts I ordered !

Brownells has changed its carrier to France (and Europe) and now, I pay huge taxes .

USPS, was good for us, they go through french Post, and it worked good.

For information, never send something through Airborne Express to Europe !

Couple years ago, I ordered 3 holsters and 12 mag pouches from Nolan Innovations ( Aluminator), and had to pay 275 dollars in taxes, almost the same value as the package !

Airborne express again !

Ditto!

I got totally screwed on some electronic gear I shipped to my hotel in France. (I mailed it just because I didn't want to explain what it was to French and English customs...)  For what it's worth, if you guys had shipped stuff to the U.S., there would have been no duty at all (there is supposed to be, but it's never charged on little stuff).

I'm sure that a bunch of us could sponsor you if you ever decide to expatriate....

;)

Tell me about them tax. I went to the drug store to buy 4 packages of condoms on sale for 50 cents each. The guy behind the counter tells me I owe him $2.25. Now I ain't no brain surgeon but I wasn't born last night either. I know darn good and well that 50 cents times 4 is $2.00. I asked the guy what the other 25 cents was for and he said tax. I didn't get the condoms, but at least now I know what holds them on.
