SDM
Is there an extended mag release available to replace the O style on a 75b? I've looked at CZ Custom and CZ USA and not found anything. Would a release off a different gun work? I need this to be legal for USPSA production.
Skydiver
Is the stock mag release too short for you? http://shop.cz-usa.com/P-0420005302/Magazine-Catch-75b85b.aspx
kfd147
You need the mag release for the 85 combat. It is a little longer and checkered. Jason
SDM
Yes, the stock is too short. I having to move my hand too much to get my thumb around to it. I saw that the 85 combat comes with an extended release. I didn't know if it would fit. How much longer is it?
kfd147
The 85 combat release is 0.085" high from the frame and a standard 75b release is 0.062" high from the frame. The standard one is also angled on top where the combat release is straight up. Jason
1SOW
http://shop.cz-usa.com/P-0420005304/Magazine-Catch-85-Combat.aspx Sure doesn't "look" like the 75B mag catch. I'm interested in an extended release for the B too. Edited December 13, 2011 by 1SOW
SDM
I had emailed CZ-USA. They said the 85 Combat is the same as a 75b. I wish I could see the shape of the one in the link above.
kfd147
Here is a better picture. Jason
SDM
And that is longer compared to the 75b part? Any idea where to get one? CD USA is telling me there is no difference.
kfd147
The webshop link above to the 85 combat is the correct one. I have that part on a couple of my pistols and ordered it from CZ-USA. This is the one you want. It is not as extended as the D style or Shadow frame. If you want one that high you would have to get one and modify it to fit the round hole in the standard 75B frames. Jason This can you moved to Open if you "modify" the OEM part. Notice that in Appendix D4 21.6 it only uses the word "replace", unlike 21.5 that uses the words "modified or replaced". [Realistically, though, unless the RO or Chrono guy is intimately familiar with CZ's, I doubt they would notice, or remember that nuance in the rules.]
eerw
the 85C mag release is pretty nice. it is slightly more extended and your only alternative to keep a a gun with the "O" style release legal in production or SSP
