kreativecid
My 9mm Spartan's sites are stock and for my eyes and ability they are simply "blah." Before I replace at least the front f/o site with another f/o from Dawson, has anyone put a new rod up front? The original rod is kind of a dull orange. Or is it the width that's at least half the issue and I should just go straight for the .100 Dawson?
Paul-the new guy
You should change your f/o rod frequently. They get dull as they age. You can clean them with a damp tooth brush also.
a matt
Dawson has vids on you tube on how to change F/O inserts. It should be bright, whatever color you use.
Boxerglocker
I tried just a FO change with the stock sight and ultimately went with a Dawson .100 If you want to try red or green rods with stock sight send me a PM with your address. I have some extra that I bought prior and I probably will never use, can send you a few inches of each to evaluate.
kreativecid
Much appreciated. I cleaned the f/o rod and it helped tremendously, but I think it's the width of the front (or the narrow width of the rear site opening) that needs changed. Compared to my other handguns the Spartan is nearly one big bland parkerized site combo that hides the target instead of frames it. Again, thanks for the f/o rod offer. Ringing up Dawson today! fred5876r
The .100 wide Dawson FO front works very well with the stock Spartan rear sight, in my opinion. I bought my Spartan from Dawson with their front sight already installed.
