Loki999
Hi all, I am wondering, would a 10 pound recoilspring damage a 9 mm shadow? i shoot a pf of 130. I don't think so, i see shooters use 11 pound recoilsprings for their major .40 On the other side, does it make a lot of difference 11 or 10 pound, recoilwise. Will try the 10 pound tommorow for relaibility

burningsquirrels
it might beat up your slide stop more.
Jay870
10lb would not reliably go into battery for me, and I could feel it chugging when it did.
burningsquirrels
yup. too light and it won't go into battery. too heavy and it could time wrong.
The Antichrome
I use a 10 lb with no problems (with my ammo, 132pf) With factory ammo, I use an 11 lb.
JorDanO
I've used a 10# for over a year now. The only problem I had was when I tried the +10% mag springs. It couldn't close the slide against the added tension from the rounds in the magazine. The recoil is a little sharper than an 11#, but for me it makes the gun shoot flatter. My theory is that it will actually take less stress off the slide stop
Strick
All I did was take different rate springs and from slide lock (with dummy rounds of course) see where the sight went when the slide closed. The 11lb spring dropped it right back to target, that is what I am running now.
