Siphon Odesse
I'm looking for a fiber insert front sight for my Springfield single stack 1911. The dovetail cut in it is some .338", so the Wilson sight I ordered is too small. In searching Brownells for another sight, they refer to Kimber cut, but there are no actual mention of the dimensions of the dovetail. Does anyone know what the cut on a Kimber is, alternatively know of f.o. front sight (I like green) that's going to fit? Regards, Siphon
waktasz
Dawson makes sights for the Kimber. http://www.dawsonprecision.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=SIGHTS+FRONT:Kimber+Front+Sights
Bob DuBois
Dawson is hard to beat just measure the height of the factory sight and width, you might want the new sight a little narrower, I like the .100 width. even comes with a tool to insert the sight. May need a little filing, just go slow watch the video. Easier if you have a padded vice. I put leather strips form an old belt in mine.
BlueOvalBruin
Kimber has its own dovetail dimensions for its sights. Why they do I have no idea, pretty artarded if you ask me. Anyway, the springfield I think has novak cuts (or bomar rear if it has target sights).
