southtexaswoman
Hi, I bought my bore snake a long time ago and it is now dirty. Seems where I read it can be washed. Is this true and if so, what's a good way to do it and to dry it? Thanks.

vluc
Plastic bottle, bore snake, water and cleaner, or just a cleaner like simple green. Mix, shake vigorously, hang to dry.
Service Desk
Hijack..... I unpicked the stitching and replaced the brushes with Brownells Double-Tuff brushes. Holy Smoke talk about cleaning efficiency !
southtexaswoman
I love each and everyone of these replies. Great ideas. The only one that scared me before I opened it was I saw "service desk" had replied. My apologies to you as I did not realize it was your "name" on the forum but thought some service desk of the forum was not happy with my post. Now I am laughing at myself. Anyhow, thanks go to each of you for your suggestions.

Robphillips00
Anybody tried the newer viper bore snakes? They are supposed to have more cleaning surface. I've only used the originals.
BlueOvalBruin
I use my toothbrush with some toothpaste and it makes the boresnake nice and clean. Just rinse the toothbrush out a little before you use it next.
Robphillips00
A copper or brass brush might work even better. The toothbrush is a good idea.
Michael64
Every couple of months I take my boresnakes and soak them in a 1/2 gallon bucket of hot water and oxyclean for about 30 minutes. Rinse and hang to dry.
