Dan Sierpina
What the heck are you doing? I've probably fit a couple hundred barrels over the years with the same cutter. It's the smaller one that Brownells sells.

BlueOvalBruin
Which way are you turning the cutter? Turning the wrong way can dull the cutting edges.
kl7883
im turning it clockwise.......
Dan Sierpina
You may not be putting enough pressure on the slide as you turn the cutter.
RIIID
I use the .186 first then I run the .195, after that I put a .003 shim between the barrel and slide lug. I have another .195 cutter that I use just for the final cut. The last time I checked that cutter had done over 65 barrels. It will only need a light filing to finish the fit. Aircooled6racer
Hello: I have cut about 15 barrels now and they are still sharp. Like a reamer if you turn it the wrong way it will either chip the cutter or dull it. Use some good tapping oil on the cutter and barrel. One for stainless steel will work a little better. Remember to let the cutter do the work Thanks, Eric

benny hill
I use a lath at about 600 rpm & get about 50-60 barrels each.
