DyNo!
Does anyone know how they react smoke wise with a charge of about 6.6 grains? For example, the worst smoke I've ever experienced was combining Tightgroup and Moly. It was like shooting a muzzle loader and I knew in advance what it would be like. How is it loaded at 140 PF with jacketed bullets? I've got 8 pounds of the stuff and it would take me years to shoot all of it in Open. I really don't feel right spending $60 for gunpowder when I've got 7.5 pounds of HS-6 sitting around. Edited June 13, 2011 by DyNo!

DyNo!
To add to this - I use HS-6 in 9mm major and I have a 2011 in 9mm for outlaw multigun. Steel is set heavy and hot 9mm is not a hindrance at all. I'd be using moly for practice and local matches and jacketed ammo for matches.
triplesinglestack
not sure what bullet you are trying to run, but I run Moly 140 gn .40 in my open gun w HS6, no problems 8.5 gn
DyNo!
I did some reading and decided that I'm just going to load 6.6 grains under a 121 Montana Gold bullet and play it safe. Thanks!
Hi-Power Jack
I've got 8 pounds of the stuff and it would take me years to shoot all of it in Open. If I figured this correctly in my head:( - no puns here - I believe you would get approximately 5000 rounds out of the 7.5 lbs with a 9mm major load. I shoot that many rounds (practice and matches) in about four months:) Did I do something wrong here? I'd save the HS6 (I love it, but just switched to WAC), and buy an 8 lb jug of something more suitable? Nothing wrong with having a supply of powder - we ran through a shortage of bullets, and then primers - seems to me it just might be powder next:( Just my humble opinion.
