Foxbat
I honestly don't know what is wrong with your first load - the AutoComp one is very close to what I am getting in my guns WITH holes. But for the nearly identical HS-6 load (I use 8.2 gr) I get 169. Two possibilities I see: one - your powder drop is not working - did you check the charge? And two - bad batch of powder. ncboiler
I actually had to go up to 8.5g of HS-6 to get it to 170PF over my chrono. That load went 171 at the OH Sectional and 176PF at the VA Sectional. Same batch of ammo, two days apart. The chrono is voodoo

Checked it on a lyman digital and an RCBS beam scale. I would think if i was getting drop issues my es would be more i got a differance of 23 feet on string 1 I just dont know maybe its a bad batch of powder. I guess it will be relagated to steel and practice powder. I really liked the autocomp better anyway.
A63111
My TruBor needs 8.4 of HS6 @1.160 with a Monatana Gold 124 JHP to make 170 PF as well. I need 7.4 of Auto Comp all other specs the same as with HS6. Looks like almost the same results.
Mat Price
its really not that big of deal to be honest the autocmop is so much better out of this gun. As soon as i am done with this last bit of hs-6 it will be autocomp all the way.
gng4life
I'm going to be loading up some WAC and HS6 this week and trying them out. Just being curious, I searched the forums for some HS-6 loads and came up with several results. Instead of posting links, I copied the info and put it all in a text file. This is not my load data, just a collection from the forum and others I've talked to so please proceed with caution anytime you are reloading. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Tried an HS6 load the other day. 8.2gr under a 121IFP at 1.150" OAL, Fed SPP. It got me to 165.1PF and was much nicer than the WSF loads. That last WSF load I tried chronoed at 172.6PF and was still flippy. With the HS6 load, the triangle in my deltapoint just kissed the top before it came down. Next I'll try 8.4gr and 8.6gr. ******************************************************************************************************************************* I ran 7.8gr of HS6 under a 124 MG JHP and got around 167pf out of a G17 KKM barrel and Jager Comp. ****************************************************************************************************************************** I use 8.5 grains of HS-6 with the 121's and an OAL of 1.170". It gives a 171PF in a shorty 9mm. Thanks, Eric ******************************************************************************************************************************* I use 8.2 to get to 170 PF @ 1.165 w/ 124's - start at 7.8 and work it up. ****************************************************************************************************************************** I hear 8.4 H6 1.190 is soft and great load! ******************************************************************************************************************************* My Open G17 loads OAL is 1.155-1.160 Lone Wolf barrel, mixed brass. 8-8.1 grains HS-6 makes major nicely. Zero issues after ~4000 rounds to date. ********************************************************************************************************************************** 8.3gr of HS-6 under a 124gr Montana Gold at 1.170" gives me 171pf out of a 5" AET barrel with no holes. ************************************************************************************************************************************ Adding my load data with HS-6 on a 32 F day with 4.8" barrel (4.25" to the comp), 124 CMJ, 1.164" Powder High Low 10rd avg 8.0 gr 1381 fps 1337 fps 1351 fps 8.2 gr 1410 fps 1373 fps 1391 fps 8.4 gr 1432 fps 1390 fps 1422 fps ******************************************************************************************************************************** Interesting numbers. Probably the powder since everything else seems on par. I'll post mine up also when I get finished it. Please post your WAC results if you decide to try more load variations. shooterbenedetto
How is the dot tracking on HS6? up down or figure 8?
OpenDot
In this desert... it's pretty much Autocomp everyday as it's not temp sensitive. 9mm Major Fullsize 124MGJHP 7.2 AC 1.170 AOL WSRP 1395 all day everyday... I've bumped it to 7.4 and 1.175 for more gas and get 1400+fps
gng4life
How is the dot tracking on HS6? up down or figure 8? Barely straight up and down. I'll try to video it when I go out again but not sure if it will show up. I only got to 164 PF so no telling what it will do around 171 but I'm suspecting it will be the same. I really could tell the difference between WAC @ 163 (violent) to HS6 @ 164 (sharp but steady and much softer).
CocoBolo
First you should always include the type and brand of primer you used. I use SPM (Win or CCI) with HS6, the magnum lights it up and it burns cleaner. There is a lot of variance in open guns, however, I consider my full size guns as fast and 8.0 gr w/124 MTG CMJ @ 1.165 puts out a nice 168 pf on a good hot day 90+. Your results look like you mistook a 6 for an 8 on a digital scale, but then again your other results look only a little bit slow for a full size gun. 7.0 WAC gets me 172pf. I have one gun with a new Schuemann 5.5" barrel and it is always slower (@5 to 10 fps) than the 5" Clark barrels. On the feel good side IMHO its Silhouette, WAC, and HS6 in that order. The HS6 seems to hit the end of the slide stroke a bit hard, giving a bit more slap in the palm. Silhouette is dirty and reverse temp sensative, HS6 is good and dirty, WAC all things consdered has the least amount of negatives. What I have noticed is those folks that seem to complain most about the "flip" dot jumping over the moon are the ones running 7# and 8# recoil springs, 9# and 10# recoil spring shooters seem to have less complaint about the dot wiggling all over the place and bouncing. Some shooters have not idea what spring they got or how old it is. The only way to know which one works for your set up and preferences is to try it.
