Paul-the new guy
I got a used RT1200 trimmer, set it up on my OLD single stage press and started trimming. The press kind of leans back, it is designed that way, about 10-15 degrees. After running the trimmer for 15-20 minutes it started getting really noisey almost like a dry bearing or something, it also seemed to pick up a little vibration. Is there any reason not to run this trimmer at an angle like this? It could just be because it is older, I know I make a lot of strange noises... bgary
Did you have a vacuum attached to the manifold to suck the shavings out?
Paul-the new guy
Did you have a vacuum attached to the manifold to suck the shavings out? I did not have the vaccuum hooked up, I did even have the manifold on it. You think some metal got up in there or something?
Paul-the new guy
any other ideas on this?? I hooked up the vaccuum and it still does it.... Should it not be leaned back?
dillon
the unit is safe to run at any angle. It has two sealed bearings. The do run very hot, being a rectified AC sealed motor. If it sat straight, you could have brewed a cup of tea on top.
