Cameron
True Blue felt much softer that IMR7625. Case volume was extremly low, made it difficult to verify a single powder charge was dropped. Dot consistantly tracked straight up and down, a little better than 7625. Seemed to be a slight less flip also. I will test some loads above 170 PF also, the gun was getting flatter and softer through the 8.5 grains. Cameron
No, only the True Blue so far. Should it be one to put on a test list? Any starting load recommendations for 115 and 125 HP bullets? I am shooting a 5", Dawson Awsome comp with two barrel ports.
bhg
I also tried to run some True blue over the chrono today. Ramshot gives data for 6.4 to 8.4 grains of true blue under a 124gr hornady hp/xtp, with small pistol primers. I made the mistake of buying winchester brass and seems to have shallow primer pockets. I have tried both winchester small rifle and federal small rifle but they set high. Anyway, I started at 7.5 grs and had pressure signs on the primers. I did chrono about ten rounds and ended up with 1275 average, 158.4 pf. This was through a 5" STI w/4 ports and no holes.
bhg
Cameron Are you using the arredondo powder bar?
Cameron
No, standard Dillon powder bar. I did not see any pressure sign problems. Fact I am going to increase the load a couple tenths and see how it feels. I probably will not shoot more than the 1 lb I have because of the risk of double charges. Not sure what the issue with the primer pockets is, but I had 1 of every kind of brass throughout my .38 sup loading and never had a pocket issue. diehli
Wonder if this is a viable powder for use with 9Major... low volume sounds pretty good. Drift: Are SR primers pretty much a necessity with any open gun because of case pressures?
Cameron
300, I use WSR primers because most of the load data I have read is using the WSR primers. My understanding is the rifle primers will indeed withstand the higher pressures. This powder charge is so small, I need to figure out a new light source to be able to see the complete inside of a Super case. My rounds per hour is suffering bigtime because I can not readly identify a double or no charge situation. Should be a great powder for 9x19 if case capacity is the issue when making major. Seemed noticibly softer than 7625 and 3n37.
Yardbird
300lbGorilla, I shoot CCI Small Pistol primers exclusively in my 9x21 P9 and have no pressure signs whatsoever with 124 gr jacketed and 7.7 gr Power Pistol at 1370fps.
eric nielsen
If anyone tries True Blue in 9Major, your results & opinions would be great to hear. Sounds like the grains are even finer than Vectan SP2 and HS6.

Alan Meek
back from chronoing the first test loads, data has been posted here: 9mm Major Load Data. Will add more data later. Powder does not take up as much case capacity as other powders I have used. I did a quick check without changing my powder dispenser settings and the setting I use for VV N350 throws a Tru Blue Charge weight of ~10.5g. Primers starting to show some flattening 7.0g of True Blue. The rounds were hitting the target low right from where the gun is sighted in for my current load. Will report more as soon as I find the load that makes Major and I can shoot a significant amount through the gun. Opinion is currently mixed until I can chrono some more.
