RL550 - Primer Bar Spring

Dillon's closed until Monday - Just wondering how to remove this pin:

it holds the Primer bar return spring - the current one is shot.

Or, is there an easier way?

I never knew how handy that spare parts kit would be until today. It has the parts for almost everything! I'm so glad I went with the recommendation to get it.

Raise platform so that top of ram is out of the way.

Use a very long punch of the correct size and drive roll pin that holds the spring in place from the left hand side of the frame, moving it to the right.

Replace spring with new one drive pin to the left.

That's what I was thinking, I think the key is 'very long punch'. mine doesn't even make contact, and started my questions...

Use a finishing nail to drive out the roll pin from left to right, just enough to allow you to unhook the loop on the end of the spring.

How often do we need to replace this spring...I think mine is also shot...or wornout.

Now would be good for you.

If you think it is shot replace it, you might be right. Ring / Fax Dillon and get them to send you TWO and a replacement pin, just in case.
