AH6IP
Anyone own or shoot a Citori Ultra w/ported barrels in 12 ga? Looks like a real nice gun. I can get one for less than 1K almost new. Is that a good deal?
EricW
I don't know about the Ultra, but <$1K for a newish Citori is generally a fair price. I think they're somewhere about $1400 new.
ranger
I shoot a Browning 325 in Sporting Clays. A 12 gauge Ultra for less than a $1000 should be a great deal. What barrel length - the trend is to long barrels. For Sporting Clays, the current trend is 30 " or longer. My 325 is 32". Even the Skeet OUs are getting longer. Irishlad
That sounds like a great deal, they are very good guns. Prices are going up. I think you will find most of the Brownings, new, are at the $2,000+ range now. You could earn a living buying Ultra's at a $1,000 and reselling them. AH6IP
Well, I got it. It was in fact brand new. $995 for a very nice shotgun. BTW, it has 28" barrels. I think I stole it. About time I got a deal.
gunboy
That is a good gun at a very good price. I used to shoot one and have worked on lots. Two things to watch out for. Polish the front hinge area on the receiver with 1000 grit and a light polish on a buffer.....this does a LOT to prevent the galling that I see on so many Citoris.....use good grease on the hinge area as well. Buy a couple of lower (only) firing pins from Brownells and replace them as soon as pitting is seen....this will prevent misfrires that will come inevitably during a competition. All Citoris erode the lower pin.....I have replaced more than i can count but they are cheap and easy to fit.
