2011 build question

I am in the middle op building a STI 2011 and am having troubles with the sear spring. The one i have is a STI for a 2011 and I am using a Extreme Engineering Trigger Kit. The spring does not ride high enough on the sear and eventually slips off and goes underneath. Is it possible i got the wrong spring or am i missing something? when the spring is where it should be i have a very nice feeling and perfectly functioning trigger assembly. Any help would be appreciated.

This will be my first 2011, first pistol build and i thank everyone for all the info. All i have left is to cut the frame for the nowlin ramp, fit the barrel and finish all the parts.

I'd just change it out to another one, maybe from a different manufacturer. Perhaps a mistake was made on that one and it wasn't caught.

Maybe your spring is not wide enough, slips to the left side and goes under the sear.

I've seen it a lot ! Take a SV titanium sear spring and you should be good to go.

They are wider and can not slip.

I use a Nowlin or EGW sear spring. Use a punch and peen out the corners at the bottom of the spring to fit the grip better and not allow it to shift side to side.

I had the same problem with an egw sear spring. Switched it out with an sti spring and it worked fine. The two were definitely different.

I used the Brazos spring with the same kit and it works with no issues.

I have another STI spring on the way. I am told all STI's use the same sear spring so im not sure why mine didn't work. Im just special i guess.

I had the same issue with an apeiro when changing out the trigger. I had to reshape the trigger bow just a little. mine would work fine would not slip off the sear but as soon as i put in a mag, first pull after that would not reset the trigger and no half cock. a little reshape on the spring and a little reshape on the bow runs 100% now.

I got another STI spring, same as i had before and its working like it should. The first one must have been just a hair short.
