Attila
It seems that in the early 90s, maybe late 80s, that several smiths made comps that had the same profile as the slide. They gave the pistol a logslide look until the slide was pulled to the rear. Does anyone make or use these still and if not, is there a performance reason? BrianH
I make them. Mainly, it's the shooters preference of weight out front vs. flatness.
L9X25
I believe that Briley does (or did until recently) make a "full profile" comp. The primary issue is weight, particularly with the new power factor. The lower power factor necessitates that the comp be as light as possible to keep the slide cycling quickly. Briley makes many of their comps out of titanium to combat the weight issue but the full profile Ti is still heavier than a partial profile Ti comp. With lighter, smaller, faster guns being the current rage, the extra weight of the full profile is even less popular. Leo
PaulW
Talk with BrianH, first rate service with even better end product. If you can dream it, he can probably build it.
